The Governing Body consists of:
3 Parent Governors (Katrina Malcolm, Pat Bridgewood & Helen Usher);
3 Community Governors (Bob Spokes, Mike Williams, Keith Wright);
2 LA Governors (Helen Hathaway, Peter West );
2 Teacher Governors (Helen Clark, Kate Dethridge);
1 Staff Governor (Carolyn Baines).
Tracey Green is the Clerk to the Governing Body
Jenny Hill as the Deputy Head also attends meetings.
Each governor serves a term of 4 years. Parents elect the Parent Governors, LA Governors are nominated by the LA, the Governing Body selects its Community Governors, teachers vote for their governor, the Headteacher can choose whether or not to become a governor, and the remaining staff select their representative.
The Governing Body generally meets five times a year, and governors split into smaller committees in order to discuss Curriculum and Finance matters, which meet before separately in order to report back at the main meeting.
The minutes of the meetings are taken by the Clerk to the Governors, Tracey GReen who also helps organise governors’ meetings and other information. Minutes of Governors’ meetings are available for public viewing from the School Office and on this website.
